Fixed-valve trays

Fixed or stationary valves are elements stamped into the tray deck and arranged in a staggered pattern. The valves are trapezoidal, are available in three sizes and are oriented parallel to the liquid flow.

The smallest valves provide higher capacity due to lower hydraulic resistance, are used at very high vapour loads and also reduce liquid entrainment. Large SV valves are successfully used in fouling services. We can offer internals tailored to the specific requirements of your production facility, taking account of the process and process-media characteristics.

Fields of Application

Chemicals
Food and beverage production
Gas processing and petrochemicals
Oil refining and petrochemical industry
Power industry

Advantages

Sideways vapour discharge helps move liquid across the tray while reducing transverse non-uniformity in liquid-phase residence-time distribution on the tray
Reduced entrainment due to lower vertical vapour velocity from the valves and higher vapour loads
High mechanical strength due to the rigidity of the tray deck
No wear and longer service life due to the absence of moving parts
Ability to process fouling media
