Collectors are designed to collect liquid flow in a column.
We offer various versions of support and vane collectors, as well as different types of chimney trays.
The Spliteks support collector serves both as a vane collector and as a support structure for packing. As a support structure, it is used with packing having a specific surface area of up to 350 m2/m3. For higher-efficiency packing, additional plates are used to promote uniform liquid drainage. A demountable collector is often used where the space between packing beds is limited. A support ring is required to install the collector inside the column.
The Spliteks vane collector is used to collect liquid flow at the outlet of a packed bed in a column. The collector is installed on an annular channel welded to the column wall. The vane collector can be designed for installation between the flanges of small-diameter sectional columns.
Chimney trays are designed to collect liquid and distribute vapour beneath packed beds. Depending on the design, chimney trays may either be welded for maximum leak-tightness or bolted where minor leakage does not affect process efficiency. Chimney trays are mainly used in large-diameter columns at high liquid loads.
The collector-distributor is used to collect and redistribute
liquid at very high liquid loads. It is similar to a chimney
tray; the arrangement of vapour passages is usually designed to meet the process requirements
for liquid distribution and permissible hydraulic
resistance. At medium liquid loads, where
liquid mixing is important, the liquid should be collected on a separate
collector tray and directed to the liquid distributor
located below.
